ged-mcbride-eppAfter nearly 12 years as service engineer at EPP, the Epsom-based leading supplier of top quality equipment to the UK and Irish baking and food processing industries, Ged McBride has been promoted to become one of the company’s area sales managers. He is now responsible for looking after customers and developing the company’s business in Scotland and the North West of England.

Ged, who will be well known to many of the company’s current customers, has been involved in installing and commissioning equipment in craft, plant and supermarket in-store bakeries as well providing routine service and engineering support.

He said: “I am very much looking forward to the challenges my new role offers and working in partnership with bakers and food manufacturers in order to help them to make the right decisions when it comes to investing in new plant and equipment.

“Because of my background I will probably be always pointing out that however attractive the price a new piece of machinery appears to be, customers should always take step back and ask how it is going to be maintained and supported?”

EPP managing director Steve Merritt said: “Ged will be a major asset to our sales team. His time spent as one of our service engineers has given him an unrivalled, detailed knowledge of our product range from silos and mixers to bread and roll plant, ovens, packaging machinery and blast freezers. This will be invaluable to us and our current and potential customers. He is, therefore, the ideal person to drive our business with bakers and food manufacturers in Scotland and North West England.
